(88) The Body is Not an Apology, Sonya Renee Taylor

Gorgeous book. Listened to this as I walked, trying to reconcile my anti-exercise (because feminist and not about appearance [if only]) with my need and desire to be more mobile and energetic. This kept me focused on the activity, not the appearance, inhabiting the/ MY body as a joy, not a thing to be whipped into shape. (The vs my, h/t Nancy Mairs, whipping into shape… somebody I taught this semester, will update when I remember.)

Not sure what my next walking book will be. Maybe (prosaically) Solnit’s Wanderlust, that’s been on my list for ages.
